About

My Story…

Professionally trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy, I worked in the Public Sector and in Social Care for many years. I have always felt a great urge to travel,  It started initially, with dreaming of finding that picturesque white sandy beach and the sun sparkled turquoise sea lapping the shore on which to sun bath. But, the more I travelled, this very quickly extended into wanting to experience more about other countries and their cultures/history and people.

After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, I moved to London, England to be with my Partner in the summer of 2008. Whilst job hunting, I felt a strong sense that my professional life was moving in the wrong direction… After discussing this at length with my other half, I kept coming back to the thought “I wish I had a career that involved travel” and with much encouragement from my partner, he suggested I start writing about travelling and the places I have visited. I must admit, he had more faith in me than I did! It is during this time, that myself  and a girlfriend embarked on a trip of a life time to Thailand for 6 weeks and whilst there the idea of writing about my travels began to feel like something I could do.

On returning home, I decided to take a job in London and put the travel stuff on the back burner.

In 2009 my Partner and I married, I discovered I was expecting, I left my job and so too did my Husband, who had successfully built up his own Internet Consultancy Business. We both worked from home, where I took on the role of Admin Support and the planning for Worldwide Holiday Guide (WWHG) began. In 2010 our beautiful little girl was born and WWHG was again placed on the back burner.

It’s now 2011 and creating WWHG website/blog is in motion…

So, what is Worldwide Holiday Guide about??

It is a website/blog that allows readers to gain insight to many different destinations. I hope to provide readers with travel tips, the do’s and dont’s – the  faux pas that vary from culture to culture. In addition, I want to share my interest in travelling to different places, albeit home or away and to share the history that has played a part in making such destinations places we want to go.

Enjoy
